Who gets to decide what gets declassified or not? And when will they declassify Roswell and Area 51?

The NSA gets to decide based on the suggestions of the military units dealing with the secrets. The official Roswell file has been available to the public since 94 or 95. I checked it out from the Pentagon abd read through all of the info and redacted stuff. The original news and witness reports mention flying saucers. Two days later it was all "weather balloon" stuff. Area 51 will be shown after they move everything.

News and such are one thing - what did the internal reports say?

Some of the witness interviews had people mentioning flying suacers. The stuff you really wanted to read... was redacted. So there was just enough info to make you believe what you already did. It was just interesting to see that eaqrly military info supported the flying saucer claim. It was odd to note the change to weather balloon contradicted the on-site accoutns of military members.
