I have no pictorial proof, but as an observer on hand in Hotlanta, I must concer. WoW costumes are ok to be made fun of by geeks.

For the folks who love WoW... I am glad you enjoy it and have a great time. Sadly it seems as if yes... it appears to be socially acceptable to make fun of WoW'ers in costume. It struck me as funny that the geek community would engage in such a thing. I heard it everywhere

"Who is that supposed to be?"

"Probably a blood elf or some other WoW thing"

"That's dumb.. that class doesn't have wings"

I think the part time WoWers want to make fun of the hardcore who can crush them.

I've always felt that geeks especially should know better than to make fun of anyone.
I mean, people who dress up make cons a more enjoyable experience. Is it surprising that even cosplay should have its own fashions and trends? The chicks will inevitably grow tired of wearing metal bikinis, even if you haven't grown tired of watching them. Eventually cosplaying as something you enjoy will become fashionable again.

Ok I'm done being mature and sensible - now show me pictures that make it acceptable to make fun of the WoW cosplayers: 'cause the first two pics only make them look awesome!
