And if you don't, that is your choice. Exodite - Well worded. (If this was MySpace I would give you 2 Kudos.) BTW can you PM me your feed?

As for the dating service, it looks somewhat promising. I'm not in the market, but I do have a newly divorced friend who is having trouble with guys she meets on match.com. I'll pass on the link to her. As for the whole Christian and geek thing, in my experience, it has more to do with the kind of Christian one is. I've been to many different types of Christian churches before finding my home church and they all teach different things and emphasize different teachings.

Dangit! I go away for the weekend and miss out on a really interesting discussion about geekdom and Christianity and I miss out about the Metropolis footage! Curses! I won't jump in just because it seems that the discussion is closing up.
I will say, however that my wife told me she knows at least two geeky Godly single women. Granted, they're nowhere near you, Exodite, but they DO exist. I married one.

I know lots more Christian gamers than you'd maybe expect. Hell, I'm one, albeit with some pagan leanings. I'm down with God and all, and Jesus was my homeboy; it's mostly the folks who've been slaughtering in his name for the last 2,000 years that I have a problem with.
Don 't steal? Don't kill nobody? Love each other?
Yeah, they're all pretty solid teachings, yo. Hard to fault the message.

Yah, I just said that.
I seek understanding in all areas of my life. Here is my arguement against being christian:
I can not tell you of one Christian who has ever looked at their life and said, "well damn, this Jesus guy died (because he told everyone that we should be nice to one another. And by the way he was the son of god.) so that my transgressions could be forgiven by an all knowing, all powerful (given these 2 facts about god, he knew I would type this now, why I would type it and what would be the fall out.) being with infinite compassion for man(angels are a different story)."
Either he wants his followers to beg for forgiveness or he wants them to realize that he is there and wants them to be happy and that he understands that they will screw up along the way and that he understands this and will not toss their asses in a giant lake of burning fire to suffer eternally because humans are very prone to screwing up, often, and in a big way.
I am not a Christian, I tried converting for a christian geeky girl. I am firm in certain christian ways such as most of the 10 commandments that keep civilization from collapsing. But Shakespeare said it best when he said "Nothing is neither good nor evil, but in thinking makes it so."
I know I'm gonna get flamed on this one. I am not saying by any means that Christians are wrong in their beliefs. Some of my best friends during my life have been Christian, but we can not see eye to eye in the capacity of faith. I've been struggling with a response on this one that won't either come off as a flame or sounding overly pious (it's easy to be misunderstood in only text). Please know that what I will say in response isn't meant that way and I hope it doesn't appear that way. I think you're missing the essential point here--grace. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He sent his only begotten son that whoserver believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." But I think what can get lost in there is stopping there and not reading John 3:17 that says, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." Jesus came to sacrfice himself in my place, in your place and in everyone's place. It is Jesus who will be our advocate on the judgement day when we stand before God and have a give an account of our life. Jesus wants and desires a relationship with all of us, but he gives us the freedom to accept it or not to. If we didn't have that, we'd all be nothing more than mindless robots. God wants to be loved and wants to love us, but He gives us the choice whether or not to believe in Him and love Him. I don't see it as Jesus wanting us to beg for forgiveness. The gift of forgivenss is a grace, something we can't ever earn on our own.
