Inmate Has D&D Taken From Him
A Wisconsin man serving life in prison has lost an appeal to have his D&D stuff returned to him. The prison system says he can't have it... why? It promotes gang activity. So I pulled out my dice bag and rolled him away.

Wouldn't that be considered Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

Yeah, let them lift some irons and watch Fox News instead that will make them ready for the REAL world on the outside...

Freakin' D&D chump, couldn't stand those fools.
Back in the day me and my World of Darkness homies had to bust a couple of caps into their punk asses to make the point that it was our game store.
Seriously, if they ban D&D for gang activity, they damn well better keep World of Warcraft out of the prisons. Those Alliance vs Horde throwdowns could get brutal.

Gang activity? Really? Wouldn't that "gang" be the most beat-up gang in the lock-up?
And does an adventuring party constitute a "gang"?

Wouldn't that make every other "team" fantasy game a "gang" game? Guess they'll have to ban the new Super Mario for Wii...

Re: Inmate Has D&D Taken From Him
The All Games Considered people had an interesting take on it: that roleplaying games - especially D&D - contains very violent material, and that the language used could lead to dangerous misunderstandings or the opposite: situations where the players could plan out attacks on the guards using the game as a disguise. It's probably never a good idea to ever give a prisoner in a maximum security prison occasion to utter the phrase "I'm going to sneak up behind the guard and slit his throat!"
