Privateer Press' Iron Kingdoms is liquid awesome for fantasy.

Deadlands is an amazing setting, too. Dungeons & Dragons? More like Zombies and Wagons!

Post Re: Your setting of choice
I'm a fan of most modern settings. Shadowrun is probably my favourite "near-future" one. In terms of sci-fi, i think Warhammer 40k is the coolest. It certainly has the fullest backstory of any game i've ever encountered. As for fantasy, I'm not too big on it. If i had to choose, i'd probably say Rokugan from Legend of the 5 Rings.

I prefer to make my own settings - game world design is sometimes the best part of roleplaying.

I am a little cheesed off that Privateer Press have trademarked the phrase "Full Metal Fantasy", as I have - independently of them - developed a fantasy game world which fits that genre description perfectly. By trademarking the term, they've killed it as a name for a genre...

GURPS published a worldbook called Reign Of Steel, which was congealed awesome sandwiched between two covers. I cannot reccomend it enough!

That's the best way to do it in my opinion

I like to let my geeps create their characters first so i can create a world that will put them out of their element, or just screw with them to humor myself

We've pimped it before, and it really is hella fun.

I've heard that Privateer Press is consistantly good too, but I don't think I've played anything from them.

I've actually been on the verge of purchasing since you first started pimping it on the cast.
