I'm out there Jerry, and I'm LOVIN IT! It's not the same as 2E, so i consider it a different animal, but it's also fun.

 Re: Have YOU gone 4e?
I'm still plugging away with 3.5. I'm in a second group using Pathfinder and loving it. We've even tried a bit of Savage Worlds and liked it too.

 Re: Have YOU gone 4e?
So, after much earnest pleading and bribery with homemade cake, the owner of my FLGS has finally talked me into running a regular weekly 4e game at the store...
It's gonna be two Eladrin (one Warlock, one Wizard), a Halfling Ranger and a Tiefling Fighter for the first session. I'll be backing them up with a Human Cleric NPC just in case. None of the players have any experience with 4e, and two of them are entirely new to roleplaying (i.e. kids)

 Re: Have YOU gone 4e?
Just rolled up and played a 3.5 barbarian this evening, so nope -- no 4E for me.

 Re: Have YOU gone 4e?
I hang my head in shame. My FLGS had a sale recently, and I picked up the three basic books for the price of two...

He's using the oniine tools to run the game and really likes it. I definitely would like to check out Pathfinder. That might be worth moving to from 3.5

That might be worth moving to from 3.5 4e is fun, I'm only "ashamed" of now supporting it because of my vehement opposition earlier. It'll never be my primary RPG, but it's good for certain kinds of play - especially when you don't want your RP to be too serious. I borrowed the Pathfinder Beta book from my roleplaying club, but it just looked too much like what I don't want from an RPG - way too much crunch.

If that's the case, I seriously recommend Savage Worlds. I've made around 4 characters for Deadlands and have mourned the loss of each of them. I still miss Hassenpfeffer Chang, a chinese railroad worker turned quick draw gunfighter. I THINK he's been turned into an undead after he was killed. My current holy warrior looks forward to killing him for good with his shotgun... the Wedding Maker.
