After the Seigel lawsuit Jack Kirby's Estate sues for control of characters like Iron Man, Thor And X-Men.

No kidding... Kirby was prolific, but he was HARDLY the sole creator of most of these characters.

His Spider Man was a totally different concept

Comic Geek Speak had a GREAT episode about the Kirby Estate lawsuit. Unfortunately, the link hasn't hit their web page. It IS in the RSS feed, though.

They had a media lawyer as guest who went through some scenarios and made some guesses as to the suit's direction. Pretty informative and interesting. One of the best points he raised was that Kirby himself said in several interviews that he wasn't the sole creator of the big characters and that Marvel owned them. Pretty steep evidence to over come but the lawyer behind the suit has some amazing credentials. He is some sort of expert at suing companies on behalf of creators.... for a large cut of the pie, of course.
