Pathfinder RPG for $10
When Paizo launches their update to DnD 3.5 at GenCon, the PDF version will be available at paizo.com for $10. The Pathfinder RPG is a progressive modification of the Open Gaming Content from the D20 SRD. I've been playing the fre download Beta version for about a year and love it. All 3.5 material is EASILY converted. The updates to the core classes make them REALLY fun to play with out feeling the need to cross class so much. The only class that got nerfed was the Druid (which has been getting less and less power since 3.0). The Pathfiner RPG book itself is a 500+ page tome including information from both the Players Handbook and the Dungeon Master's Guide. The Bestiary (aka Monster Manual) will be released a bit later but the Bonus Bestiary from Free RPG Day is available at paiazo.com as a free down load or you can buy a copy for $5. So, come August 13th, if you want to try out the successor to DnD 3.5, give Paizo's Pathfinder RPG a try. The Beta version is still available if you want to see some of the changes to the classes and troublesome rules like GRAPPLE.

Re: Pathfinder RPG fpr $10
Wonder if that's for international sales as well..? Bah, I'm in an RPG club who's got a huge library - I'm sure they've got Pathfinder as well.

That's pretty cool. I'm not a Pathfinder guy, cause I never played 3rd E or 3.5. I'd play a nice retro 2nd Ed game, though. Loved me some 2E!

Re: Pathfinder RPG fpr $10
I've been following the Pathfinder Alpha/Beta, and the stuff that's been done is pretty cool, so I highly recommend acquiring a copy of the final Pathfinder RPG when it comes out.
The adventure path's are also pretty cool.

-Chris Any idea how compatible with the Iron Kingdoms sourcebooks it is?

So, what's the advantage to using HM instead of just digging-out your old 2E stuff? Availability of new material I suppose?

Availability of new material I suppose? Want "old school?" Try OSRIC which is a "remake" of FIRST EDITION DnD. http://www.knights-n-knaves.com/osric/
