 Re: Nintendo 3DS
I can't freaking wait for this! It's like the Virtual Boy done right. I'm really looking forward to seeing the footage of the first playable games at E3. I'm curious to see what kind of games they come up with for it.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Fresh off the E3 floor, here's a list of confirmed games in development for the 3DS. And for those who can't access a PDF file at the moment, here's the few that caught my eye: From Nintendo: Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Star Fox 64 3D, Pilotwings ResortThank you, Nintendo, for acknowledging the two series I've been waiting for. Admittedly the Star Fox is a remake, but I'll take what I can get at this point!! Plus, if you missed it, HERE'S SOME FOOTAGE FOR YA!! Man, if you didn't know any better, you'd swear that Kid Icarus game was on the Wii. This handheld is a freakin' powerhouse.

The system's graphics are really stunning, and I agree with you, Billy Flynn, Kid Icarus will hopefully be fun.

 Re: Nintendo 3DS
Some more details are coming down the wire now, thanks to the recent Nintendo conference in Japan.
The system will ship the last week of February in Japan, with the US/Europe shipments coming a week or two later. Right now the handheld is listed at 25,000 yen, which translates to just under $300. Chances are this will be the price, unless Nintendo decides to cut it to $250, which might also be the case when looking at how they've balanced pricing between regions with past systems. If they keep it at $300, though, it will be the most expensive handheld release in the company's history, let alone the handheld industry altogether.
The 3DS will have several really interesting features:
- A charging dock, replacing the plug-in cable of old handheld designs. - Local Mii production, with connection to your Wii console to transfer designs. - Photo-based Mii generation: Take a picture of someone, and it will automatically produce the best match for their Mii. Makes me wonder what happens if you take a photo of Ackbar or Zoidberg. - Always-On connectivity to WiFi and local wireless, even if the system isn't powered on. Simply walking past another system (even that of a complete stranger) will transfer Mii data and other bits of information. - Save files stored locally on the system's memory. This allows for idle matches to be performed even if you don't have the associated cartridge loaded in the system. I.E. if you have a Pokemon save file and you walk by someone else with your system turned off, your Pokemon will battle theirs instantly once you are in range without the need for friend codes or even notifying you that it has happened. You will get credit for the battle and any associated experience the next time you boot up the game. - All of your current downloads on the DSiWare service will be transferrable to your new 3DS. Additionally... - The Classic Game Boy download service has been confirmed. It's the Virtual Console of handhelds: classic portable gaming titles of the past 20 years, available to play on the 3DS.
All this for $300? Worth every penny in my opinion. I gotta start saving up for March, that's going to be one hell of an expensive month.

The fact that I'm drooling over this doesn't mean that I'm a console gamer, does it?
