The show is back, and hopefully, good times will be as well. The premiere is off to a good start, though. At any rate, we need a discussion thread about the new season.

The first episode was awesome. The second one... not AS good, but still very enjoyable. A few of the characters' actions/emotions seemed out of place given the events of the movies that had JUST happened prior to these eps, but I can see how they're prepping it for another full season. I freaking loved it and can't wait for next Thursday.

Biggest hope/complaint: I demand more Zoidberg screen time. I really hope they give him some good script material. He's seriously the best character of the show.

Well... him, and Billy West's Nixon. AAARRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I may have to see some of it to get really excited about this...
Seems to me there's just too much opportunity to fail at this point.

I liked both episodes, with the second being my favorite of the night, if only because I'm a big Zapp Brannigan fan. My only real problem with the second episode, though, was that the V-Giny looked so similar to the Brain-o-Sphere from "The Why of Fry"

I love this show because no matter how many times I watch random episodes, it seems like I never see the same episode twice. And They're all funny.

I have a nostalgia heart for Simpsons, I love the unabashed attacks of South Park, I like the simple humor of Family Guy, but in the end, I might just conclude that I'm a Futurama guy through and through. It's not political, it's not raunchy, it's just entertaining.

I always knew there was a reason I liked you, Jabba. I'm with you on every point except Family Guy. It's just a show I could never get into.

I can pretty much agree with all of that, and I'll go one step further to add that Futurama works for both casual viewers and long time fans. Unlike The Simpsons, Family, and South Park, Futurama slowly works towards a bigger storyline for its episodes, often bringing back continuity to tell a more complex story. It's the same reason I liked watching Codename Kids Next Door even after I entered my late teens.

True, I only got into Futurama by watching random episodes.
