Sharp wit and a sharp sword. The Cinemistress knows that both of those things can be very deadly weapons, and one of her literary heroes is a character that exhibited skill with both – Cyrano de Bergerac. She has seen just about every film adaptation of Rostand’s play, so it was natural that she would want to check out Cyrano! It helps that this version stars two of her favorite working actors, Peter Dinklage and Ben Mendelsohn. But did their presence help enough to overcome the fact that this is a musical adaption?
